About Chef Rick Bruno

Chef Rick was born and raised on the Peninsula in Belmont, California where he attended Serra High School. As a kid, Rick’s first and favorite thing to make was Hot Dog Mix Up, you can ask him what that is!

Rick went on to complete an apprenticeship culinary program through San Francisco Culinary College where he began his passion for cooking. Rick started in the East Bay where he worked at multiple restaurants. He found his way to Sonoma County as the Sous Chef to Chef Gary Danko at Chateau Souverain in Geyserville (now Coppola), where he met Linn. Rick then moved over the hill to Calistoga at All Seasons Restaurant as the Chef. During this time Linn moved to Maui, Hawaii and Rick followed her. Both worked at the highly acclaimed David Paul’s Lahaina Grill; Linn as a server and Rick as the chef. After Maui, they moved to Colorado for a short stint before moving back to California and working in San Francisco. Rick as chef at Christopher’s Catering, Valhalla, Dago Mary’s, and Ricky’s in Novato (the name was a fun coincidence!).  Linn worked the front of the house; a server at Chateau Souverain, in the banquet department at the Hyatt in Maui, to Special Events Coordinator and Marketing at Kuleto’s in Burlingame. Finally, Linn talked Rick into moving back to her hometown of Santa Rosa to raise their growing family, and then came Bruno’s on Fourth. Linn and Rick have three boys; Shane, Harrison and Charlie who you will get to know very soon.

About Bruno’s On Fourth

Bruno’s on Fourth opened in May 2007, and quickly became a favorite locals-driven dining establishment. Known for Chef Rick’s comfort foods such as his homemade meatloaf & mashed potatoes to flat iron steak with blue cheese & French Fries or Almond Crusted Salmon with pesto beurre blanc. After 13 years of satisfying local cravings, Bruno’s closed it doors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the classic Bruno’s dishes have made their way onto the Ricky’s Eastbound menu as staples and specials!

To our wonderful Ricky's Eastbound community,

Rick Bruno, the “Ricky” behind Ricky’s Eastbound is taking a well-deserved break from being a restaurant chef/ proprietor. After 40 incredible years in the industry Rick is ready for a break from restaurant ownership and has sold Ricky’s to the Ausiello family.

We sincerely express our deep gratitude for your unwavering support during the incredible past 5 years; through fires, blackouts, and the challenges of Covid-19. Your loyalty has been the driving force behind our success, and we truly appreciate each one of you.

Don't worry; Rick will still be whipping up his signature comfort food for your next event. Keep Rick in mind as your trusted caterer - details to follow.

As we say goodbye to Ricky's Eastbound, we welcome "Ausiello's Homeslice" (coming soon). Homeslice will be making a few changes to the restaurant and plan on opening towards the end of 2023.

Warmest regards,
Rick, Linn, and the Ricky's Eastbound Crew
